End of Life Decisions

This month in the US, many friends and families will come together to enjoy a Christmas and New Years Eve, drink some wine, and zealously shop for friends over the holiday weekends.

With everyone coming together to celebrate, it’s an ideal time to make sure many of your friends and family know and understand your end-of-life care wishes.

I encourage you to seize this opportunity by taking part with friends and family during these upcoming holidays.

Why are we part of this effort? Two reasons:

73% of Americans would prefer to die at home, but anywhere between 20-50% of Americans die in hospital settings.
Eight out of ten people say it is “very” or “somewhat” important to write down end-of-life

Ask three straight-forward questions about what you want for your end of life care:

If you had a choice would you prefer to die at home?

Would you prefer a green burial?

Would you rather have a cremation?A casket is the box used to house a body after someone passes away.
